I first got introduced to Haikyu!! through one of my friends, Melvin He told me I should watch it because he was also my volleyball friend, and even to this day, we still share that connection through the sport. I started watching it and ended up getting through quite a bit in one day. Honestly, it was a really good show. What stood out to me was how much it made me want to play volleyball in real life. When people talk about teamwork, I mainly think through the lens of volleyball. Team Play Ethos in Volleyball In Singapore, people usually play together. Everyone still carries a little bit of their own game. Moreover, in Japan, and especially in Omoroi Life’s Volleyball, the Japan Volleyball Club embraces a similar ethos. Even when somebody is strong enough to score on their own, they still look for another person. One touch becomes two touches and two touches becomes three. The point is for the team rather than for any particular individual player. My volleyball team at SAS is close. We joke around together. We sit together after practice. Nobody dislikes anybody.
